Meet the Principal

WELCOME TO THE 2026-27 SCHOOL YEAR!

Eagles Full Sail Ahead!

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year at Monroe Elementary! My name is Allison MacGregor Fornes, and I am honored to continue serving as Principal of this wonderful school community alongside our Assistant Principal, Eric Valadez. Together, we are excited to partner with our students, staff, and families for another year of learning, growth, connection, and joy.

At Monroe, we are proud to be home of the Eagles. Our mission is to empower each student to become a resourceful, responsible, lifelong learner in a secure, positive learning environment where every person feels worthy and respected through the support of family, community, and staff. Each day, we work to create meaningful learning experiences that challenge and inspire our students while helping them develop the confidence, perseverance, curiosity, and skills they need to thrive.

Our Eagles also know what it means to S.O.A.R. We encourage every student to be Safe, On task, Act responsibly, and show Respect. These shared expectations help us create a school where every student feels a sense of belonging and is ready to learn.

This year, we are excited to set sail with our 2026–27 theme: “Eagles Full Sail Ahead!” Like a crew working together to navigate toward a shared destination, every member of our Monroe community plays an important role in moving us forward. Our students bring unique strengths, experiences, ideas, and talents aboard, and we believe that when we combine those strengths with high expectations, strong relationships, and a shared commitment to learning, there is no limit to how far we can go. Along the way, we will celebrate our progress, learn from challenges, adjust our course when needed, and continue moving full sail ahead toward success for every Eagle.

Families are essential members of our crew, and we encourage you to stay connected and involved throughout the year. Strong communication and partnership among families, teachers, counselors, and administrators help our students succeed. We look forward to welcoming you to school events, family learning opportunities, PTA and Natural Leaders gatherings, classroom activities, and celebrations throughout the year. Whether you volunteer, participate in a school group, attend an event, or simply stay connected with your child’s teacher, your involvement makes Monroe stronger.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important part of our Monroe community. We are excited for the adventures, discoveries, challenges, and celebrations ahead. Together, we will chart our course, support one another, and make 2026–27 an incredible year for every Eagle.

Anchors up! Eagles Full Sail Ahead!

Warmly,

Allison MacGregor Fornes
